Sudeshna has extensive experience of nearly 17 years addressing litigious mandates across sectors relating to shareholder disputes, deadlock in management, foreign investors’ exits from their portfolio companies, disputes arising out of commercial contracts, infrastructure, construction, real estate and disputes arising out of downstream investments of foreign investors in various sectors in India.
Sudeshna has advised and represented clients, across sectors, in complex disputes regarding private equity and shareholder disputes, including issues pertaining to valuation, corporate governance, exit rights, oppression and mismanagement etc. in various arbitration proceedings, both domestic and international arbitration in respect of all these issues.
She is an experienced and multifaceted litigator who has advised and represented clients in a range of commercial causes. She has been appearing before various for a including different High Courts, the Supreme Court of India, and Tribunals such as NCLT and NCLAT.
She advises and represents resolution professionals, borrowers, banks, financial & operational creditors, and asset reconstruction companies in restructuring and insolvency proceedings and cross-border disputes.
Her clients include institutional investors and multi-national corporations who seek her advice on non-contentious mandates. She advises them on mitigating risk arising from investment agreements and shareholders’ arrangements and helps structure transactions which allow for robust insolvency resolution.
She has been appointed as a sole arbitrator by the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) in a commercial dispute, successfully completed the arbitration, and issued an award in less than a year.

Advising and representing one of the leading developers in construction arbitration proceedings where the dispute involves complex issues relating to civil construction of one of the tallest residential buildings in India with about INR 10000 million in claim and counterclaim.
Advising and representing a Singapore-based company (JV Company) investing in India's real estate and infrastructure in disputes arising out of a shareholders’ agreement before the Tribunals and London Court of International Arbitration.
Successfully advised and represented a client who is a constituent of the world's leading independent commodity trading and logistics house in an arbitration proceeding involving the termination of a high-value lease owing to construction disputes in an arbitration with about INR 6000 million in claim and counterclaim.
Advising a large Foreign Portfolio Investor in relation to its disputes with Indian Promoters and actively engaged in cross-team practices (transactions and disputes) to finally facilitate the exit of the Investor from the Company they invested in.
Currently advising a client in a high-stakes construction dispute against a State government, related to a toll highway project involving contractual claims exceeding ₹2,000 crores.
Advising and representing a foreign portfolio investor with respect to its downstream investment in an Indian real estate company which led to a Singapore seated SIAC arbitration. The dispute was eventually settled between the parties.
