Mr. Gauhar Mirza is a seasoned practitioner with a focus on technology law, international and domestic commercial arbitration. He advises leading technology companies on compliance with the evolving regulatory framework, including data privacy-related issues. His practice also extends to representing clients before law enforcement authorities and diverse judicial forums across India. He is known for his expertise in handling complex commercial disputes through arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
In addition to his strong presence in the technology sector, Mr. Mirza has acted for both private and public sector corporations in high-value and complex disputes. He has appeared in ad hoc as well as institutional arbitrations covering a broad spectrum of matters, including infrastructure and real estate projects, shareholder and partnership disputes, license agreements, land acquisition, and employment-related claims. His experience spans multiple industries, enabling him to provide practical, business-oriented solutions to contentious issues.
Mr. Mirza has experience handling arbitrations under different institutional rules, such as those of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA). His familiarity with these institutions allows him to navigate complex arbitrations effectively. Mr. Mirza also sits as an arbitrator in various domestic arbitration.

Representing Engineers India Ltd., a Government of India undertaking several arbitrations and court-related matters.

Represented Tata Projects in challenge to arbitral awards before the Delhi High Court.

Represented Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp in tech litigation pertaining to take down requests, intellectual property matters, writs and policy related matters before various judicial forums and law enforcement authorities.

Representing NHPC Ltd, a Government of India undertaking several arbitrations (ICC administered and DIAC administered) and multiple proceedings related to challenge to the arbitral awards before the Delhi High Court. Disputes pertain to infrastructure development contracts awarded for hydroelectric and solar power plant projects in U.T of Jammu and Kashmir, State of West Bengal, Assam and Kerala wherein the sum in dispute is in excess of INR 5000 Crores.

Representing Reliance Communications Infrastructure Ltd as a Claimant an arbitration against BSNL wherein the dispute is arising out of an operations and maintenance contract for providing rural mobile communication services in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Assam. Sum involved in the dispute is around INR 100 Crores.

Represented Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in the arbitration pertaining to a dispute in relation to delay of construction of two Gas Turbine Power Stations in Oman.
Represented Kalanithi Maran and Kal Airways before the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court relating to the arbitral disputes
Representing Roadis Concessionaire in the arbitration and NCLT related issues against its contractors.
Advised and represented the Embassy of Congo in India and Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in lease-related arbitration disputes.
