Abhishek Chansoria is a Partner in the firm’s Banking & Finance and Intellectual Property practices, with additional expertise spanning Insolvency & Restructuring, Projects, Infrastructure & Energy, and Debt Capital Markets. He advises private credit funds, investment platforms, developers, corporates and financial institutions on structured debt investments, secured lending, special situations, real estate financing, debt capital markets transactions, and infrastructure and project finance matters.
His practice focuses on complex financing and investment structures, including platform-level investments, structured credit transactions, distressed and insolvency-linked opportunities, and multi-jurisdictional transactions involving bespoke security and cashflow arrangements. He regularly advises on secured bond issuances, infrastructure financing, concession and PPP documentation, acquisition financing, refinancing, inter-creditor arrangements and enforcement strategies. He has extensive experience in designing and implementing multi-tier security structures involving mortgages, pledges, guarantees, escrow arrangements and other credit enhancement mechanisms.
In his Intellectual Property practice, Abhishek advises clients on the protection, commercialisation and enforcement of intellectual property assets, with a particular focus on technology-driven and transaction-oriented matters. He regularly advises on the intellectual property aspects of M&A, private equity and venture capital investments, cross-border technology transfers, strategic collaborations, licensing arrangements and intellectual property-heavy transactions. His experience spans patent, trademark, copyright and design matters, including portfolio management, due diligence, enforcement, infringement disputes, technology licensing, intellectual property commercialisation and related data protection issues. He represents clients across a broad range of sectors, including technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, consumer products and media.
Select Experience

Advised ASK Property Fund on its exit from a residential real estate investment involving the Mahagun Group, including transaction structuring, stakeholder negotiations, settlement arrangements, exit mechanics, closing documentation and implementation of the overall monetisation strategy.

Advised on financing and transaction‑related matters involving the JSW group, including document review, structuring inputs, and coordination with transaction stakeholders.

Advised Viatris Inc. on the sale of its biosimilars business to Biocon Biologics Limited (BBL), a subsidiary of Biocon Limited, for US$ 3.335 billion in stock and cash—one of the biggest M&A deals in the healthcare sector. Viatris received consideration including cash up to US$ 2.335 billion and shares in BBL valued at US$ 1 billion. Advised on the intellectual property aspects of the transaction, including the transfer, assignment and separation of intellectual property assets, assessment of associated intellectual property rights and liabilities, and related transactional documentation.
